Hola Volunteers and Supporters

As many of you may know, March through June 15th is the only time of the year that our marine turtles are not activity nesting, and this is the only time I am able to travel. It's strange, leaving Mexico to go on a vacation. With luck, sometime within the first week of April I plan to head north on a combination business/vacation trip, returning here around June 20th, there will be no newsletters during this time.

If you need to contact me, use grupo-eco@project-tortuga.org the above e-mail address, and keep in mind the PV Net address is no longer a workable e-mail address after March 31st. While on the road I'll be on the Internet working to bring volunteers aboard. While on the subject of volunteers, we are not getting the application we need; although it could be the same problem we are encountering with raising donations, poor economy, and the threat of an uncertain war.

Last week we attended a meeting called by the State of Nayarit. The meeting was designed to discuss environmental protection and land use planning, within and along the three southern coastal counties of the State of Nayarit. It was strange to see so many land developers in sheepskin pretending to be conservationist. Although the officials hosting the meeting were I am sure interested in a balanced plan.

By the end of March our efforts to have everything ready for the coming nesting season will be completed, except for selecting volunteers. Below are two photographs, one of the groups under the hands of the wielder, and the seven sections of the portable/temporary nursery.
